A Strong History

In 1978, I moved to Dallas to open an office for a major national wholesale brokerage firm and in 1991, an international retail brokerage firm acquired that company.

Realizing I could not ask retail agents to support me when I was owned by a competitor, I agreed to become President of Colemont Insurance Brokers. My dream was to build a totally independent wholesale brokerage firm doing business throughout the US. With this in mind, I focused on hiring brokers who also recognized the importance of being independent. The Colemont staff that has been created is second to none in both experience and expertise.

Colemont has grown to include fourteen offices throughout the US, and together we wrote over $1 billion in gross premium volume in 2006. This is something that the entire staff is very proud of, and I cannot thank them enough for their individual and team efforts. In a very short 13-year period, Colemont has developed into one of the largest and one of the best independent wholesale brokers in the US.

Our future is promising as market conditions stabilizing to a level that helps specialty lines agents and brokers find new opportunities and growth.
