Most apartment construction exposures are now acceptable and will no longer be excluded.

NEW! Tract Housing Contractors

Tract housing is now routinely covered up to 15 homes - formerly 10. Risks working on larger tracts may be written, subject to the following parameters:

  • General contractors and developers working on tracts of up to 25 homes are generally acceptable, and projects of up to 40 homes may be considered on a project-specific or annual basis. Extended products coverage (i.e. 10-year “statute” coverage) is not available other than under an OCIP program.

  • Subcontractors working on tract housing projects of any size can be considered with the following parameters:

    • Standard terms are for 1/2/1 limits, with defense inside.

    • Limits of 1/2/2 may be offered on selected accounts for a significantly higher rate.

    • Prior work is excluded.

    • Deductible of at least $10,000 per occurrence (including LAE).

    • No A/I’s other than Company form (no CG 2010 11-85’s). Primary and waiver wording are acceptable when required by written contract.

    • Minimum premium is $100,000 for risks that will work on homes or home pads, and $50,000 for infrastructure contractors such as street & road or utility construction.
