Internship Program
Colemont’s internship program offers college students an opportunity to learn about the exciting excess and surplus lines industry through the perspective of the wholesale broker. Participants in the internship program will:

Meet with key individuals from various underwriting, brokerage, and claims teams

Learn about product lines that are unique to the excess and surplus lines market

Gain hands-on experience about the technical side of insurance including product coverages, regulations, and administration of accounts

Gain an understanding of brokering business including relationship building, product marketing, and negotiating
The program takes place in the summer and will typically last 6 to 8 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who not only possesses strong analytical skills, but also enjoys working and interacting with people on a daily basis.
Skills
Efficient work habits are critical to success as well as the ability to learn, digest, and apply technical insurance material quickly. A candidate must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and a close attention to detail.
Education/Course of Study
The ideal candidate for the internship program is currently in their sophomore and junior year and majoring in Insurance & Risk Management or Finance.
