January 14, 2009 - Colemont Global Group announced today that it has received regulatory approval from the "Comision Nacional De Seguros Y Fianzas" in Mexico to open a reinsurance broking operation based in Mexico City. The new operation will be called Colemont de México Intermediario de Reaseguro S.A. de C.V.
Colemont de Mexico will be led by General Director Octavio Jose Careaga Gutiérrez. Octavio has nearly 20 years of reinsurance experience with both brokers and insurers. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Benfield Mexico, responsible for production and facultative business in Mexico and Central America. Eva Franco Ponce has been appointed Administration Director and will also be a senior member of the management team. Eva has more than 25 years of experience and joins Colemont from Odyssey Re where she was Controller for Latin America and the Caribbean.
